The primary goal of Pennsylvania’s EETT Competitive Grant Program is “to improve student academic achievement through the use of technology in the Commonwealth’s elementary and middle schools.”
In order to achieve this goal, the EETT program will focus on programs in grades K-8 which address the following items:
· Teachers in grades K-8 will integrate technology to enhance student achievement, to assist students with mastering the academic standards, and to maximize instructional productivity. · Students in grades K-8 will acquire the technology skills necessary to achieve technology literacy by the end of 8th grade and to thrive in a high-tech society.
Also, funded projects should include at least one of the following priorities:
· Capacity Building/Professional Development · Program Evaluation · Effective Needs Assessment/Data Driven Decision Making · Technology Integration/Curriculum
For the 2008-9 school year, 111 proposals were submitted with requests totaling 17 million dollars. PDE had 9.3 million dollars to distribute and ended up funding 47 of the proposals.
Our district received $122,375. We received monies towards:
Ø 12 Polyvision Boards Ø 12 laptops and LCD projectors Ø 32 classroom responders Ø 34 student laptops Ø Salary & benefits to replace Nicole Ø Lead to Learn Instructional Assessment Tool
